Edukasyon Gihimong Racket 7 Months ago
The more money you pay, the lower the quality of your education. Yup! That's just basic. You know why this is happening?

I'm telling you, kung estudyante pa man ugaling kamo, ayaw g'yud ninyo i-allow anything that you think is wrong. Kay kinsa ang makalolooy? Kamo ra pod! You are your own best advocate!

Lain po’y ato, kung nasayod nga dili kamo deserving nga makadawat ug passing grade, pakig-hisgot sa inyong magtutudlo nga you want to retake or reenroll it again. Ayaw itugot nga makatapos kamo nga wala kamo’y nahibalo-an, bahala pa’g dugay pa kamo maka-graduate. Mo-eskuwela gani para makakat-on, dili maka-paso nga wala’y nakat-unan. Ayaw sayanga ang inyohang kaugmaon.

Another thing that can be very helpful to your future:

Let’s make a distinction between text messaging spellings ug correct every day spellings. Kung mosulat mo’g text messages on your cell phone, gamita ang abbreviation. Pero kung mosulat mo’g standard English, Tagalog or Visayan in EVERY DAY writing (NON-Cell Phone), then DO NOT use abbreviations. Ayaw ninyo i-shortcut ang inyohang sinulatan in all your writing tungod kay nagpasabot kini nga you have to go back to elementary school. Sa US ug sa nagkalainlaing well developed countries, dili sila mogamit ug abbreviation in all their writings. A lot of my friends here in my beloved English-speaking country, mogamit ra sila ug abbreviated or shortcut format kung mag-text.

Text messaging kay maayo man pero makakat-on kaninyo sa walay nadang pagsulat o sinulatan: mamahimong dili na kamo kabalo sa spelling, most everything is all lower case letters na ang inyohang masulat, putol-putol, don’t really make sense sometimes, and many other drawbacks. These can be avoided. Here’s what to do: Paningkamoti ninyo nga kung mosulat mo’g text messages (cell phone), abbreviated kini. Apan kung mosulat mo’g every day writing (non-cell phone), DO NOT USE abbreviations. Corporations, companies, small businesses, public offices, federal offices and every employer in both the public and private sectors, dili mo-hire ug mga employees nga dili kabalo mosulat, don’t know how to talk ug wala’y self confidence. Think about it!

If you want to be a successful person:

- Read books and other literature.
- Don’t go to school late (be early or on time!). If you’re used to being late, you’ll end up being fired kung nag-trabaho na kamo. Also, avoid absences.
- Love yourself and be proud of who you are! (Ma—pobre ka man o unsa ba dinha, paningkamot lang ang gikinahanglan; you’ll be fine. Salig nako.)
- Love your country and your countrymen.
- Respect others.
- Do volunteer work.
- Be assertive but do it politely.
- Be honest! That’s a very important thing.
- Study often, chitchat less.
- Don’t cheat! If you cheat, you’re cheating yourself. Don’t make it a habit. It will bite you back later.
- Never give up.
- Work hard.
- Be responsible.
- Take criticism as a tool to improve your self. Be grateful for the attention.
- Don’t take yourself too seriously.
- Obey the law.

If you want to be a very good Filipino citizen:

- Don’t allow yourself to be called Pinoy or Pinay. I don’t even like the sound of it. What do you think? To me, Pilipino ako! Ako ay Pilipino! Pinoy, Pinay? Hell NO!
- Stand up for your rights!
- Report any illegal activity or wrongdoing – even if it involves a relative.
- Register to vote; and then VOTE!
- Don’t buy or sell votes.
- Praise good leaders.
- Criticize bad leaders.
- Don’t engage in illegal activities.
- Always love your Motherland (Philippines).
- Do volunteer work in your community.
- Speak out and say exactly you have in your mind.
- Never give or take bribes (panoborno).
- Freely share what you’ have learned.
- Don’t throw garbage anywhere.
- Pay your taxes.
- By the way, don’t shoot anyone at the expense of others. This happens, you know. Hmmm…
- Be patriotic.
- Support the Philippine military.
- Never make fun of our national anthem or flag.
- Respect all aspects of Philippine culture – including our languages, music and literature.
- Never forget we are ALL Filipinos, no matter how we look, sound, or think. (Maranao, Badjao, Tausug, Hiligaynon, Cebuano, Igorots, Boholano, Aklanon, Ilokano and other ethnicities – we are ALL Filipinos!)
- Become aware of local, national, and global issues.
- Never compromise your principles.
- Don’t be part of the problem. Become part of the solution!
- Be proud of who you are.
- Reklamo kung anaa’y dapat i-reklamo. That’s very important as well. Wala’y kausaban kung wala’y mo-reklamo.

Don’t waste your precious time.

Mabuhay!
